Use Whisper for dictation in Windows apps with one configurable shortcut and hold-to-talk or start/stop behavior.

Record a dictation

  1. Open Menu and select the microphone you want WhisperARC to use.
  2. Place the text cursor in an editable field in the target application.
  3. In Hold mode, press and hold the dictation shortcut while you speak. Release it to send the recording for transcription.
  4. In Activate / stop mode, press the same shortcut once to begin and again to finish.
  5. Keep that field focused while WhisperARC works. When the result is ready, WhisperARC inserts it if Windows identifies the field as editable.

How text is delivered

Some apps do not expose their text fields to Windows. Read-only fields cannot accept text. In either case WhisperARC shows the result in a small panel. Select Copy and paste it yourself.

Improve and keep results

  • Speak in complete phrases and keep the microphone close enough for a stable level.
  • Choose a larger local model when accuracy matters more than processing speed.
  • Create custom spellings for names, acronyms and specialist vocabulary.
  • Select a translation language in Settings if the final text should be translated.
  • Keep History enabled if you want the transcript and captured audio to remain available in WhisperARC.
