Supported workflows and languages

WhisperARC supports translation for microphone dictation. It detects the source language during transcription and returns the result in your selected language. System-audio captures and imported files stay in their source language.

Local translation is included on every plan; it does not require a WhisperARC Pro license.

Enable translation

  1. For microphone dictation open Settings and choose a language in Translation. Choose None to disable it. You can also change this from the WhisperARC system-tray menu.
  2. Start recording as usual.
  3. Review the translated result in the target language. History and structured exports keep source-language metadata when available.

Performance and fallback

In Local Mode translation runs after transcription using the Qwen model selected under Model > Local > Assistant. Model size and hardware affect the delay. Cloud translates the transcript using the shared credits; OpenAI KEY uses your selected OpenAI Assistant model and separate OpenAI billing. A dictation mode takes priority over translation.

If the detected source already matches the target, WhisperARC keeps the transcription without an unnecessary translation pass. If translation cannot produce a reliable result, WhisperARC preserves the original transcription.
