Install optional or mandatory WhisperARC updates from the application and recover from a failed download.

Install an optional update
When a newer version is available, WhisperARC shows Update at the bottom of the sidebar. Optional updates do not interrupt local features until you choose to install them.
- Finish or cancel any active recording or file job.
- Select Update in the sidebar.
- Wait for the download progress to complete.
- WhisperARC checks the downloaded installer, opens it and closes the current application.
Mandatory updates
A mandatory update disables recording shortcuts and active transcription until the minimum supported version is installed. WhisperARC opens Menu and keeps the Update action visible.
If an update fails
- Check the network connection and retry the Update action.
- Make sure Windows has enough free temporary and application storage.
- If the in-app download continues to fail, download the current official installer from whisperarc.app and run it manually.
- Do not download WhisperARC installers from mirrors or third-party file hosts.
