How system audio works
System audio records the Windows output selected in Menu, such as your speakers, monitor or headphones. It uses the current Local, Cloud or OpenAI KEY source plus the active glossary. The transcript stays in its detected source language.
Capture an output
- Open History and make sure it is not set to Do not save.
- Open Menu and select the output device that is playing the audio.
- Open Settings and confirm the Start / stop audio capture shortcut.
- Use the shortcut once to start capture and again to stop it.
- Wait for processing. Then open History to play, export or delete the result.
Before recording
- Select the output in use. The Windows default may differ from the device used by one application.
- Keep system volume at a clear level and avoid switching outputs during capture.
- Use only content you have the right to record and transcribe.
- For long captures keep the computer awake and connected to power.
